As we all know - the sheet metal bending process refers to the change of plate or plate Angle processing. (such as bending the plate into a V shape, U shape, etc.)

Take the bending deformation of a V-shaped sheet as an example. The processing process is:

1, punch movement contact sheet (blank) due to convex, concave die different contact point force and bending short moment, elastic deformation under the action of bending moment, bending;

As the punch continues to go down, the blank and the surface of the die gradually get close to contact, so that the bending radius and bending arm are reduced, and the contact point between the blank and the die moves from the two shoulders of the die to the two inclined planes of the die (the beginning stage of plastic transformation);

3. As the punch continues to go down, the two ends of the blank contact the punch inclined plane begins to bend (back bending stage);

4. In the pressing stage, with the gap between the convex and concave, dies becoming smaller and smaller, the sheet is flattened between the convex and concave dies;

The sheet metal bending process is an important part of the sheet metal processing process. The following lists five problems encountered in the sheet metal bending process and the countermeasures.

First: bending causes hole deformation:

When pressing bending and hole positioning is adopted, the outside of the elbow arm is strained due to the friction between the surface of the die and the outer surface of the workpiece, resulting in the deformation of the positioning hole.

Solution: Use shape bending. Increase the pressure of the top plate. A pitted pattern is added to the top plate to increase friction to prevent slippage during bending.

Second: the bending edge is not straight, the reason for the unstable size:

The design process does not arrange press lines or pre-bending. The material pressing force is not enough. The wear of the die fillet is asymmetrical or the bending force is uneven. The height size is too small.

Solution: Arrange the design of the pressing line or pre-bending process. Increase the pressing force. Uniform die clearance, rounded corner polishing. The height size cannot be less than the minimum limit size.

Third: there are cracks in the bending Angle:

The inner radius of the bend is too small. The material pattern is parallel to the bending line. The burr side of the blank faces outward. Metal has poor plasticity.

Solution: Increase the bending radius of the punch. Change the blank layout. The burr is rounded inside the piece. Annealed or using soft materials.

Fourth: the cause of the abrasion on the outer surface after bending the workpiece:

The surface of the raw material is not smooth. The punch bending radius is too small. The bending clearance is too small.

Solution: improve the finish of the die. Increase the bending radius of the punch. Adjust the bending clearance.

Fifth: Bending surface extrusion material thinning reasons:

The die fillet is too small. The gap between the die and the die is too small.

Solution: increase the radius of the die fillet. Correct the gap between the die and the die.
